CHRISTMAS IN A BOTTLE

Warm, comforting, joyful, merry and youthful – that’s what this season makes me feel. And that’s what I hope this little vial will help you experience as well.

Exactly a year ago, I started my journey of blending together essential oils and flower essences to create beauty products. It all started as a simple experiment to make simple yet effective products. I believed in them and I reached out to you, my friends, to participate in my experiments. You humoured me, trusted me and went along with it with a wonderful sporting spirit. I can never thank you enough for it as since then, there has been no looking back. From three products, in one year (after some permutations and combinations) I have been able to come up with 14 products with each getting much love and appreciation. So to celebrate the completion of a year and my favourite festival, I have bottled the Christmas cheer in a vial of the much-loved Rejuvenator Face Oil.

This Christmas-special limited edition blend draws its inspiration from the gifts that the three wise men brought for baby Jesus – gold, frankincense and myrrh. Incidentally, the Bible is replete with references to essentials oils; in fact, there are detailed recipes of anointments using aromatic oils. After studying through the benefits of these oils, I realised that a blend of six to seven essential oils mentioned in the Bible along with some pure gold dust and Bach Flower Remedies can not only work wonders for the skin but also balance the chakras and thereby promote general well being. I have listed below some of the primary ingredients of the blend and their benefits.

Gold: It promotes skin’s hydration, it is anti-ageing and removes pigmentation. The metal is also believed to balance the heart and crown chakra thereby opening the heart and mind to love and wisdom.

Star of Bethlehem: I just love the name of this Bach Flower Remedy but of course, I haven’t added it simply because of my preference! It is indeed a very comforting remedy and who wouldn’t want to feel comforted? The heart and skin both benefit from this essence.

Holly: Is another Bach Flower Remedy that’s not only related to Christmas but also an essence dear to me. Most often used, to control anger and jealousy, it is also a remedy that “…protects us from everything that is not Universal Love. Holly opens the heart and unites us with Divine Love,” Dr Edward Bach.

Frankincense:  This oil is an excellent cleanser and regenerates skin lending it a youthful glow. It’s an aromatic resin oil that is generally used to anoint the Crown Chakra.

Myrrh: Like frankincense, promoted skin health and cellular regeneration. It also affects the Crown and Root chakras thereby creating an overall balance.

Sandalwood: Anti-bacterial and moisturising, this precious oil is a good aid for meditation as it activates the Third Eye Chakra. It also affects the Sacral Chakra and therefore has a sensuous effect.

Jatamansi: This oil was believed to have been used to anoint Jesus’s feet for healing. It is a wonderful regenerative oil and is excellent for grounding. In fact, any oil that works on the Root Chakra promotes overall skin health.

Cinnamon: This sweet smelling, volatile spice oil is my favourite aroma. I love its spunk and fire. It is an excellent anti-septic but has to be used in very careful measure to get the right effect. This oil balances the Solar Plexus and Sacral Chakra.

Bergamot: Tangy, sweet and bitter, this oil is an instant uplifter. Rich in vitamin C, Bergamot, works well in removing pigmentation. It opens up the Throat and Heart Chakra and promotes the feeling of joy and youthfulness.

I hope you will enjoy my Ode to Christmas, as much as I enjoyed making it. To book your bottle, write to me at jhelum@beautybeats.in or call at 011-46061760. Just bear in mind, that this is a small batch and your bottle will be booked based on orders given till 31st December, 2016.
