Heard of contouring with hair colour? For those who didn’t it’s one of the coolest trends of the season – a hair colouring technique that can make your face look chiseled! Read on for more.
Utter the word “contouring technique” somewhere close to a makeup enthusiast like me and instantly you will have all my attention. Contouring is one aspect of makeup that most of us would love to master. So when I heard of this new technique, French Browns, introduced by L’Oreal Professionnel, wherein hair colour can help contour features; I couldn’t help but take up the opportunity to go for a trial.
I was invited for the review at Geetanjali Salon, where the ace hair designer, Sumit Israni, directed the entire process. To suit my skin tone, I was recommended to go for cooler shades of browns. The entire hair was given one hue and later highlights were artistically weaved in using the “Balayage technique”. This technique of highlighting shades the strands in such a way that the hair looks naturally sun-kissed! Just with colour play the hair gets texture and depth, and a bit of a snip here and there gives it that bounce and movement.
I have always been very skeptical about getting my hair coloured. I was scared of the fact that the colour might not suit my skin tone or my lifestyle. Hair damage as an after-effect was also a big concern. But after learning about this new launch from L’Oreal I couldn’t resist myself. I decided to visit the salon and see this transformation for myself.
The result? I am super impressed. I need to admit here that I did have some apprehensions before I went for this – one, because I had never, ever coloured my hair before, and two, I wondered whether it can actually do what it claims. However, I have to say that it does make my face look more sharp and the colour is so naturally done that it doesn’t stand out yet gives me a fresh new look. Go for it, I say.
