DRAWING THE LINE

Feel intimidated to do all the smudging and blending for perfecting the smokey eyes? Try smokey liner instead to get a soft yet smouldering look.

You must have aced the tricks of creating a smokey eye, but did you know that a similar effect can be achieved with far greater ease, with smudged liner as well? Follow these simple steps to get it right.

– Prep your eye lids with a base which will help in increasing the colour pay off of the products and making them last longer. We recommend M.A.C Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Soft Ochre and NYX Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone.

– Apply neutral or soft shimmer eye shadow over the lids. You can try Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette in Hard Day or Maybelline The Nudes Eye Shadow Palette.

– Then with the help of a cream liner draw a line close to your lashes. The line may not be precise as we have to blend it anyways. You can also create a wing with the same. A gel liner or kohl pencil can also be used for the same. We recommend Maybelline Gel Liner, M.A.C Fluidline Eyeliner Gel, Clinique Brush-on Cream Liner and Colorbar Just Smokey Kajal.

– Next blend the liner with a pencil brush or with a finger, dab same colour eye shadow on the liner to make it prominent and smudge free. You can use M.A.C 219 Pencil Brush and Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette.

– In order to avoid harsh lines, lightly blend the edges of the shadow applied on the liner with matte brown shadow. Try NYX Nude Matte Shadow in Dance The Tides or Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow in Rich Brown.

– Finish off with a few coats of mascara and filling the brows. You can also apply kajal on the waterline depending on the intensity of look you want to create. For Mascara try Benefit They’re real! Mascara and Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara.
