Did winter leave your skin dry, rough and undernourished? Delhi-based cosmetologist, Bharti Taneja shares tips to prepare your skin for the season.
With change in the season your skincare routine also needs to be reassessed and a shift in the products has to be made. Here’re a few DIYs that can help you bring that change.
Cleanse: Milk acts as an excellent nourisher and moisturiser for the skin. Cleansing the face with milk will bring out all the impurities, deeply cleaning the pores of excessive oil and dirt. Start with washing your face with plain water and then cleanse it using a cotton swab dipped in raw milk. Massage the face in circular motion and rinse it off.
Scrub: Take some amount of arhar dal, moong dal, chana dal and masoor dal, grind them coarsely. Add to it kaoline powder and some dry lemons’ peel, and blend it well. Pour in 2-3 drops of honey, little bit turmeric powder and proportionate amount of cucumber juice to the mix. Use this DIY scrub to remove all the impurities.
Tone: Prepare a toner by boiling few leaves of rose, jasmine and pudina (mint leaves) in two glasses of water. Drain the mixture, cool it down and then apply using cotton swab. You may store the rest in your refrigerator for future use. The antiseptic and cooling properties of rose, jasmine and mint leaves will disinfect your skin and leave you with a tingling sensation thereafter.
Pack: Blend together a ripe banana, little milk, calamine and sandalwood powder to form a smooth pack. Apply the thick paste on your face and neck for 10-15 minutes and wash off with water to get a much smoother and softer skin. The banana acts as a natural moisturiser and therefore will endow nourishment to your skin.
Following these simple steps will ensure a flawless and healthy glowing skin.
