Finding a “perfect” pair of shoes can be as difficult as finding the “perfect” man. In fact, I found my perfect man much easier, and having found “the one” I don’t have to look anymore. But with my footwear the story is quite different.
Apologies, if I have hurt sentiments. These days one really doesn’t know what offends who. Every comment has a potential “Ouch!” moment. Egos are as sensitive and difficult as my two feet. Okay, so forget about all that I said before. I take responsibility. The problem is with my toes, ankles, heels and of course, foot size. I think I am a UK size 4 or Euro size 35 but at times I may need a size yet smaller or in rare occasions a size bigger. I really don’t know! Because of my miniature size, I am often, with a smirk directed to the “Kids Section”.
My problem doesn’t end with the size. I can’t wear stilettos as I can’t balance myself on them. Yes I wobble. Go laugh some more. But sorry I would rather be comfortable than score an ace in my footwear style. Apart from that I am prone to shoe bites and water retention. And if this were not enough the arc of my feet , is well, too high. So strappy sandals pose a problem.
Despite these issues my feet look pretty dainty. Yet, pretty shoes never really fit me. I stick to sober, simple looks and when I find one that fits well, I try to buy the same in different shades. There too, my choice is limited – black, tan, white. Hence, when I find a brand that caters to me and gives me a choice, I become their loyalist. FitFlop is one of them. Over the last ten years. The brand has grown in fame and content. The comfort of these slip-ons is undeniable. And within their format the look can go from casual to semi-formal and at times even dressy enough.
Their new collection is sleek and colourful. Though in India I could only find a black and a gold pairs, but with them, my season’s daily footwear is sorted. And with my Jhelum Loves Footloose Feet Spray and evening feet soaks, I am pretty happy.
You can buy FitFlop from Urbanshore London‘s store.
