5 HAIR RINSES FOR HEALTHY LOCKS

Shampoos and conditioners are not enough to maintain your crowning glory. You need to add a hair rinse as well to your regime to keep your strands healthy and glowing.

Like most women even I’m very particular about my hair care regimen – oil massage, shampoo and condition. But this is not all that you have to do to keep your mane healthy. Most of the shampoos and conditioners have harsh chemicals which strip off the natural oil from your strands, a hair rinse not just hydrates them but also helps in maintaining the pH balance, leaving the hair soft and shiny.

1) Apple Cider Vinegar

This is one of the most commonly used hair rinses. Mix 2 tbsp vinegar and 1 cup water and apply it to your hair after shampoo. Keep it for 5 minutes and rinse off. Use this at least twice a month. It helps in removing any product build up, adds shine, balances the pH levels and production of oil. You can also add 2 tbsp honey to the mix to lock moisture into your hair shaft.

2) Black Tea

Take 2-3 black tea bags and add them to 2 cups of boiling water. Let them steep for a few minutes, take out the tea bags and once it is cool pour it through your strands after conditioning. Rinse off well to avoid discolouration. You can use chamomile, jasmine or green tea instead of black tea. Rich in antioxidants tea can increase blood flow and also promote hair growth.

3) Aloe Vera & Coconut Water

Though this one is a hair rinse, it is best used in form of a leave-in hair spray. Blend together 4 tbsp coconut water, 2 tbsp aloe vera juice and 2 tbsp jojoba oil in a spray bottle, shake well and spray a generous quantity on the hair. Rich in vitamins and minerals coconut water is excellent for hair growth, hydrates, and keeps the mane as well as the scalp nourished and conditioned. Aloe reduces dandruff and leaves your hair feeling and looking soft and smooth.

4) Beer & Jojoba Oil

We all know beer is a perfect conditioner for the hair. Mix 1 cup of flat beer with 1 tsp jojoba oil, apply and massage for a few minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water. Use this twice every month. Both of the ingredients together strengthen and condition your hair to make it stronger, longer and lustrous.

5) Coffee

Your favourite shot of caffeine can help you achieve long, shiny and conditioned hair. Take 2 tbsp coffee powder and 2 cups of boiling water. Let it steep and wait for it to cool before you use it to rinse your tresses. When applied topically the energetic ingredient makes its way to the roots, stimulating them, preventing hair damage and restoring hair growth. It also leaves a nice aroma which we all love.

So what are you waiting for, time to try which one works for you!
