CONTROL ACNE WITH HOME REMEDIES
Is acne – your foe from teen years – still troubling you? Arm yourself with these ingredients to fight back.
It is essential to consult a dermatologist if acne and pimples are plaguing you. However, apart from that (with the doctor’s advice) you can also take help from your kitchen cabinet to tame the angry bursts. Here are some soothsayers.
Cucumber
Soothing effect of cucumber helps the skin get smooth especially when acne leaves it rough. One small cucumber mixed with 1 cup of oatmeal and blended into a paste makes a nice face mask. Wear this mask for 30 minutes and rinse off with water.
Papaya
A plain raw papaya can help in reducing acne. The papain enzyme present in papaya removes dead skin as well as excess lipids. Mash raw papaya and apply it on face for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
Tea Tree Oil
Though it is oil, it is not the one that would aggravate the problem. Tea Tree oil’s antibacterial properties kill bacteria. It also clarifies the pores. But while using this oil one should always keep in mind that it shouldn’t be used undiluted. Always mix one part of tea tree oil to 9 parts of water. Then apply this mixture to problem areas using a cotton ball. If you have sensitive skin, then try adding Aloe Vera gel instead of water, with same quantity as water.
Baking Soda
Baking soda helps in exfoliation. Add one or two teaspoons of baking soda to a little water and apply the paste on problem areas for few minutes. Rinse off with water. Mixing baking soda with oatmeal gives even better results. Mix two teaspoons of oatmeal with 1 teaspoon of baking soda and water into a paste. However, if you have dry skin baking soda can be mixed with coconut oil instead of water. Apply it on problem area and rub it softly. Rinse thoroughly afterwards.
