LIP CARE 101

Along with your face, your lips also need a little love and attention. Here’s how to get pretty, pink lips in a jiffy.

Who does not like to have rosy lips? Everyone does. But sometimes Mother Nature isn’t as keen on handing us moisturised kissing machines on a silver platter. Texture and colour of your lips can reveal a lot about your health and lifestyle. With a little bit of care and a smart lip balm you can have the most enviable pout that you ever wanted.

Here are 5 magical ingredients that will help you achieve soft, smooth and rosy lips naturally.

Honey: Dry lips are difficult enough to contend with. But did you know that dryness itself can darken your lips? If your lips tend to become extremely dry, then try applying honey (you can even try ghee) at night before going to bed. It is the best way to clean and moisture your lips. This is also well known remedy for dark lips due to sun exposure.

Green Tea: Another popular old home remedy to cure dry, chapped lips is to press a green tea bag against your lips for 3 to 4 minutes daily to increase the moisture level in them naturally.

Sea Salt: Regular exfoliation removes the dead layer of cells, leaving you with softer lips. Exfoliate your lips with homemade scrubs made with seashore salt added to honey. The particular salt will certainly carefully eliminate the flakes of one’s lips while honey would offer the nourishment they need.

Beeswax: Beeswax is a non-allergic skin softener that helps to moisturise and nourish the skin. It consists of anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent that protects the lips during winter, making it appear pink and healthy.

Lemon juice and coconut oil: In a small bowl, mix in 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and coconut oil. Add in and stir thoroughly 2 teaspoons of granulated sugar, a bit at a time to make a thick paste of uniform consistency. If needed, you can add in more sugar. After mixing it well, you can transfer the scrub into a suitable storage container. It can be safely kept in fridge for about one week.
