5 DIY SCRUBS YOU CAN WHIP UP AT HOME

Homemade facial exfoliators come handy in our quest to achieve a youthful, problem-free, glowing skin. Here are a few recipes to try.

Exfoliating is an important step towards getting a flawless complexion. You need to slough off the skin to unload it regularly from dirt, oil, tan, blackheads or whiteheads. Though we have numerous OTC exfoliators to choose from, here we talk about ones that can be easily customised as per our skin and concern at home.

  1. COFFEE SHOT: Coffee and Honey Scrub – Caffeine content in coffee is extremely beneficial for the skin. Not only it helps to improve the blood circulation but also adds a glow. When you combine it with honey then both of them together will moisturise while removing the dirt and oil from the face. This scrub can be used maximum once to twice a week.
  2. CHOCO LOVE: Chocolate and Sugar Scrub – Chocolate is another moisturising ingredient, which is high in terms of antioxidant content and has anti-ageing properties. Together chocolate and sugar not only make the skin clearer, and remove any dirt and blackheads, but also improve the texture. Always remember that the sugar granules used should be small and fine so that they are not harsh on the skin.
  3. TANGY-NESS: Lemon and Honey Scrub – This is one of our favourite scrubs. It effectively works to remove any recent tan. It is quite good for dry skin. Lemon is an excellent lightening agent and honey helps in keeping the skin moisturised.
  4. PORE-CORRECTOR TOMATOES: Tomato Scrub – A gentle face scrub which is recommended for all skin types. Simply cut tomato in equal thin slices and then rub it gently all over the face. This will help in maintaining the glow, clearing the pores, dealing with tan and regular usage helps in achieving even-toned complexion.
  5. RICE BUFFER: Rice and Honey Scrub – As much as we love eating rice even more the skin would love applying it. Gently make a coarse paste of rice and then add few drops of honey to it. Together they will scrub off all the impurities without taking away the natural oils from the skin.

So, these were few of our favourite scrubs. Let us know if you have tried any of them.
