OLD IS GOLD

The saying goes that a Bengali household will always have three things – harmonium, Boroline and Horlicks.

While my Calcutta home did have a harmonium and like all good Bengali girls I did try my hand at it, Boroline and Horlicks were not really present in our home. However, during my university days in JNU, driven by a need for proper nutrition (mess food was a mess), I discovered the benefits of Horlicks and the bottle gradually made a secure place in my kitchen. But Boroline – I always turned up my nose on it… until this year that is. My feet are worst affected in summers. I have tried several pedicures and numerous creams and have benefited in varying degree, but – and here I admit – nothing worked the miracle that the little green tube did.

I was at my sister’s place and had forgotten my foot cream at home. At night to heal my heels while searching for a body lotion I found Boroline on her dressing table. I teased her about the age-old saying but for lack of an option used the cream and next morning woke up to smooth, soft heels. I am not exaggerating a bit, but the grand old product actually worked wonders! My dearest Boroline, I take back all my earlier snooty remarks. I am now loyal to you for life and you will certainly have permanent residence at my home.

P.S. This winter I have been using it every day in place of my favourite Burt’s Bees Foot Creme and I confess (sorry Burt’s Bees) it is working better.
