Yes, you heard it right. Exercises for your face can cut out the flab and tone muscles. Simply follow these face care tips to keep your visage in ship shape.

The jury is still out on the benefits of facial exercises but I have been doing them for some years now and can confidently say that they have helped me maintain a toned look. Call it face yoga, facial aerobics, or simply stretches – these exercises are now often seen as an alternative for invasive anti-ageing treatments. From pronouncing certain syllables to stretching the facial muscles in various formations these exercises claim to not just strengthen muscles but also stimulate collagen production, which in turn help maintain young, taut skin and a sharp, sculpted look. Caution: Ensure that you skin is well hydrated and moisturised when you are doing the exercises. Dry and dehydrated skin can lead to a reverse effect. Here are 10 facial workouts to keep you looking younger longer:

(a) Close your eyes and scrunch your face. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(b) Close your eyes and raise brows as high as possible, as if trying to touch the hairline. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(c) Open your eyes wide and rotate your eyes first clockwise and then anti-clockwise. Repeat thrice.

(d) Smile from ear-to-ear without parting lips. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(e) Smile with your eyes and mouth open wide. Hold for five counts and release. Repeat thrice.

(f) Fill your mouth with air and puff up your cheeks. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(g) Suck your cheeks in so that your mouth looks like a fish. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(h) Pout, and then move your mouth first to the left and then to the right. Repeat thrice.

(i) Throw your head back and open your jaw wide. Hold to a count of five and release. Bring head back and try touching your neck with the chin. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.

(j) Turn your face to left, till you feel a stretch on the right of your neck. Hold to a count of five and release. Now turn your face to right. Hold to a count of five and release. Repeat thrice.
