FAKE THE NATURAL GLOW

Radiant skin is always in fashion. We tell you how to achieve that carefully, careless au naturel look.

A glowing complexion has the potential to get far more compliments than a “visibly-well-put-together” look. You get an A+ if you do have such awesome skin, however, if you don’t, stress not. With some makeup tips and tricks you can achieve that gorgeous radiance. “For any makeup”, celebrity makeup artist Anu Kaushik says, “the aim is to achieve natural, luminous skin. This signifies health and youth.” Therefore, she recommends luminising products such as magic pots for dull skin. Luminising makeup doesn’t conceal imperfections; it adds dimensions and a youthful glow to your face. Anu cautions that if luminisers are used without the right skills, it can highlight every scar, bump or wrinkle on your face.

Here are some Dos and Don’ts by Anu to achieve perfectly polished skin:

DOs

The trick is to apply highlighting products are where your face catches maximum light – cheek-bones, brow-bone, centre of nose and forehead. Apply over cheekbones or inner corners of eyes to open up tired eyes.

Liquid highlighters are good for giving a dewy look by blending with foundation. We suggest Benefit Cosmetics High Beam for radiant complexion.

Cream highlighters are good for eye-makeup whereas, powder highlighters are the most versatile and can be used on the face as well as the body.

DON’Ts

Always look for light reflecting quality, not glitter.

Avoid using it on protruding or puffy eyes.

Avoid using it on uneven skin as it will highlight the problem.

Avoid using it in sunlight; it works better for an evening look.
