Move over strawberries and cherries, my eyes (or rather lips) are set on plums and raspberries.

When it comes to lipcolours pinks, oranges and reds have been the go-to hues this season. While I love these pop colours, the shade that has been warming its way to my heart is that juicy hue of raspberry-meets-cola. It’s not the wintery, red velvet; despite being a dark hue it is a ombre-toned shade that makes this trend summery. It’s like the difference between mulled wine and sangria. Both are made of red wines but the former is warm and spicy and the latter is flirty, juicy and has a sparkle. For inspiration, look at the sultry, deep berry lips with diffused edges seen at Dolce&Gabbana or the smoldering wine-toned lips Priyanka Chopra cruised in, in Dil Dhadkne Do.

Tip: Dot the center of the lip with the colour and then with a lip brush blend it out to soften the edges. You can do it with a bit of pigment powder to help set the bold hue.
