KNOW YOUR ASANA – PART 2

Yoga asanas can calm you down, relive anxiety and control anger, making you happier and healthier. Try Shashank asana for your well-being and glowing skin.

Anger can cause hormone imbalance, which in turn leads to skin woes like pimples and dark circles. Shashank asana controls anger, improves blood circulation, cools the body, and relaxes the mind. It is also called the ‘hare pose’, as the final position resembles to a hare. Here’s how you can practice it:

Steps:

1) Sit in Vajrasana – kneel down and place your arms on the thighs – and breathe in slowly.

2) Raise both the hands straight above the head with palms facing forward.

3) Now bend down slowly, bringing your hands forward, till your hands and head touch the floor. Exhale while bending.

4) Let your forehead and hands rest on the ground for a few moments – as long as you feel comfortable.

5) Gently breathe in and return to the starting position.

6) Repeat this for 5 minutes in the beginning, however you can increase the time with practice.

Benefits:

– Increases strength and flexibility of the spine.

– Improves the functionality of the pituitary, pineal, thyroid and parathyroid glands.

– Enhances the concentration and memory when done regularly.

– Brings glow to the face by improving the circulation of blood to the scalp, face and brain.
